As Creative Director - Copy, I help brands understand the power of cultural authenticity and experience. We were already a go-to for VCU Health, helping them build trust and connection with the Black community in RVA. Through educational campaigns centered on community health challenges and overcoming disparities, I helped VCU become a strong community partner. That success opened the door to an opportunity to help VCU Health connect with the entirety of the RVA community—a focus on care beyond the walls. Care that empowers life. Care that creates community. Care that doesn’t just check the box. I don’t do boxes.

We created an additional campaign to focus on the importance of mental health in the community. We acknowledged the real life issues people within the community face every day. The campaign doesn’t make VCU Health the miracle fix shop. Instead, it’s strong member of the community reaching out to help in any way it can. We replaced the sales pitch with a sympathetic ear and a helping hand.
